In the early 1990s, the aqueous electrolyte lithium-ion battery with aqueous solution as electrolyte and LiMn2O4 / VOx as cathode and anode was invented. It is expected to have high safety and low production cost, which has been widely concerned. However, it can not be commercialized because of the poor cycle stability of VOx.
In 2009, Wanxiang EV Co., Ltd. invented an electrochemical system with LiMn2O4 as cathode and Zinc deposition anode. Zinc deposition anode has better electrochemical and economic performance than VOx. This system has received the attention and follow-up research of a large number of academic institutions. However, the problem of zinc dendrite has never been completely solved.
Despite the efforts of many organizations in the field for many years, the aqueous battery still faces many problems, such as corrosion of cathode collector, immature electrochemical system and poor economic performance. So it does not have the advantage of commercialization。
In 2015, JINGYAN pioneered the zinc polymer anode to completely solve the zinc dendrite problem.
In 2019, JINGYAN developed the critical state heat treatment metal foil for the first time, which greatly improving the C-rate of aqueous battery and reducing the manufacturing cost.
In 2020, JINGYAN used aqueous battery in power field for the first time and completed the installation test.
